How Dating Behaviours Can Help You

For many dating can be a nerve-racking and frustrating process featuring strings of unsuccessful dates and knock-backs. First impressions count and daters often have a matter of minutes to get it right. More often than not, individuals fail to understand why they have been rejected and continue to make the same mistakes when talking to or meeting potential partners.

The Dating Behaviours model has been empirically developed through research interviews and trialling on a large group of regular daters. The research found strong evidence to support the importance in demonstrating the behaviours for success in dating. In fact, daters who demonstrate the behaviours have an 80% chance of being succesful at dating.

And the great news is, everyone can improve their dating success. Identify how likely you are to demonstrate the behaviours and you can pin-point where you need to improve.

Most people find going on a first date a nerve-racking experience. Meeting someone you don't know and trying to find a connection can be a daunting experience. Pressure to impress and first date nerves can often mean you don't show your best side. Building on our Dating Behaviours research, we've developed a quiz to help you identify your 'Dating Demon', the character likely to appear when you're feeling the pressure of a first date. This isn't the person you always are, but an exaggeration of your personality, i.e. if you're normally detailed, under pressure you might become obsessed with particular details about your date. Or, perhaps you're quite a talker, when you're feeling stressed this can become extreme and you forget to pause for breath! Most of the time we're not aware of our Dating Demon, but understand what it's likely to be and you can keep it under control to ensure your dates see your best side when you first meet.
